In the quiet community of Cusseta, Alabama, the life of 24-year-old Joshua Dean Peek was tragically cut short on March 22, 2015. A male, he fell victim to gun violence in an act that would lead to a swift arrest and a lengthy legal process. The following day, law enforcement officials took Devaniel Lamar King, then 29 years old, into custody, charging him with the murder of Peek.
