On a Tuesday evening in Montgomery, Alabama, the life of 25-year-old James Kevin Keddie-Hill was tragically cut short. On January 12, 2016, Keddie-Hill was found suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. in the 400 block of East South Boulevard, where police responded to a call of a person shot. Upon their arrival, they discovered Keddie-Hill, who was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Initial investigations by the Montgomery Police Department quickly
pointed to the shooting being the result of a robbery. Within a day of the incident, authorities identified a suspect, Martavious Williams, who was 18 years old at the time. A warrant for capital murder was issued for his arrest, as the homicide occurred during the commission of a first-degree robbery.
The search for Williams came to an end the following day when he was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force. He was subsequently arrested and officially charged with capital murder in the death of James Kevin Keddie-Hill. Following his arrest, Williams was placed in the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
