On August 18, 2008, at approximately 1:30 am, Shanee Dougherty, aged 17, was fatally shot in the 3600 block of 22nd Street, SE, Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department officers arrived at the scene and found Dougherty suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite emergency response efforts, she succumbed to her injuries. The case remains unsolved, and her death has been classified as a homicide.
