On June 27, 2016, in Fort Payne, Alabama, 25-year-old Ashley Lynn Scott was found deceased in her apartment from apparent gunshot wounds. Early that morning, Fort Payne Police conducted a welfare check at her residence on 9th Street SE, where they discovered her body in a back bedroom. Investigators identified her husband, 27-year-old Gregory Bradford Scott, as a person of interest. He was subsequently arrested and charged with her murder.
