In the quiet town of Elberta, Alabama, the life of 43-year-old Jacob O'Bryan, a white male, was tragically cut short on the night of June 30, 2017. A dispute with his roommate, Jody Lynn Treska, escalated into a fatal encounter that ended with O'Bryan being shot. The violence of that evening would lead to a lengthy legal process and ultimately a long prison sentence for the man who was once his housemate.
