In the final days of 2009, a burst of violence shattered the relative calm of Washington, D.C., and claimed the life of 23-year-old Tavon Michael Borum. On the evening of Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at approximately 7:24 p.m., police responded to the 5200 block of Georgia Avenue, NW, where they discovered Borum suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.
