On February 23, 2019, 76-year-old John W. Patterson of Riverside, Alabama, was reported missing. The Riverside Police Department, with assistance from the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office, initiated a missing persons investigation. Their efforts led to the discovery of Patterson's body in a wooded area on Police Camp Road in Riverside.
