On December 2, 2019, 28-year-old Lavon McCreary was fatally shot inside the Pic-N-Sav grocery store in Evergreen, Alabama. The incident occurred around 4:45 p.m., with McCreary's two young children, aged 4 and 5, present at the scene. At the time of her death, McCreary was nine months pregnant and expected to deliver her third child within the week.
