On December 30, 2019, 63-year-old Randolph "Randy" Cannon was fatally shot while walking his dog near his property in Hurtsboro, Alabama. Cannon, a native of Century, Florida, was known for his helpful advice to customers at Lowe's, his loyalty to neighbors and friends, and his devotion to family. His empathy for unwanted and abused animals led him to purchase a farm where he could rescue and rehabilitate abandoned animals.
