In the winter of 2020, the life of 36-year-old Jason Tyrone Montgomery, known to his friends as 'JRoc,' was tragically cut short in Enterprise, Alabama. On the evening of February 15th, a Saturday, Montgomery was fatally shot inside an apartment complex in the city. The incident prompted an investigation by the Enterprise Police Department, which quickly sought to identify those responsible for the violent act that ended the life of the man remembered by loved ones as a kind, genuine, and funny
individual who could always make you smile.
The investigation into the death of the male victim led authorities to a suspect. Laquenton Decraig Sheridan of Enterprise was arrested and subsequently charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of Montgomery. Following his arrest, Sheridan was transported to the Coffee County Jail. Further details regarding the circumstances that led to the shooting have not been publicly released as the investigation remains ongoing. More recently, in February 2025, Sheridan was arrested again on a first-degree assault warrant related to a separate shooting incident that occurred on North Ouida Street in Enterprise.
