On October 31, 2021, 22-year-old Devontia Demarius Wilkerson was found deceased in his home on New Hope Road in Chancellor, Alabama, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Authorities pronounced him dead at approximately 3:19 p.m. The Geneva County Sheriff's Office, in collaboration with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, initiated a homicide investigation.
