On December 15, 2021, 37-year-old Larry Wayne Simpson Jr., known affectionately as "Tickle," was fatally shot at the Elk River Village Apartments on Lamb's Ferry Road in Rogersville, Alabama. The incident occurred around 2 p.m., following an argument between Simpson and 22-year-old Curtis James Sherrer, an acquaintance. Simpson sustained a single gunshot wound from a large-caliber handgun and was transported to North Alabama Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
