On December 15, 2022, 43-year-old Lavor Chante Johnson from Century, Florida, was fatally shot in Frisco City, Alabama. The incident also left another individual seriously wounded. Johnson's mother, Cynthia Franklin, expressed frustration over the lack of communication from Frisco City and Monroe County law enforcement, stating that she had to contact the Escambia County (Florida) Sheriff's Office to confirm her son's death.
