Jamel Vetal Pendleton, a 45-year-old African American male from Mount Vernon, Alabama, tragically lost his life on January 27, 2023. The incident occurred at a residence on St. Stephens Road, where Pendleton was shot multiple times after opening the door in response to a knock. Family members reported hearing three gunshots and, upon looking outside, saw two men.
