On January 10, 2015, at approximately 9:36 p.m., Martinez Carias, age 21, was shot and killed in the 1300 block of Monroe Street, NW, Washington, D.C. The incident occurred late on a Saturday evening, and members of the Metropolitan Police Department responded to the scene after reports of gunfire. Unfortunately, despite the efforts of law enforcement, Carias was found deceased at the scene from gunshot wounds.
