In the late afternoon of a spring day in Washington, D.C., the life of 21-year-old Josiah Jones was tragically cut short. On Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at approximately 3:55 p.m., gunshots rang out in the 4500 block of Illinois Avenue, NW in the Petworth neighborhood. When police arrived at the scene, they found Jones unconscious and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
