On the evening of May 3, 1982, 19-year-old white male, Vern Jay Sylvester joined three teenage friends—Joseph Kimler, Sabrina Imlach, and Rebecca Phillips—for a spring outing at Russian Jack Springs Park in Anchorage. What began as an easy night near their campsite turned when a stranger rifled their tent.
