On March 1, 1983, the remote Alaskan town of McCarthy, with a winter population of about 22 residents, became the site of a tragic mass shooting. Among the six victims were Charles Timothy 'Tim' Nash, aged 37, and his wife, Amy Lou Ashenden Nash, aged 25. The couple had married on January 13, 1983, and had recently returned to Tim's nearly completed log cabin in McCarthy on Valentine's Day, just two weeks before the incident.
