Hispanic / Latino male, age 15, Joshua Palacios-Thomas was a sophomore in Bethel, Alaska, when the morning of February 19, 1997, began like any other at Bethel Regional High School. Minutes before classes, a 16-year-old classmate, Evan Ramsey, arrived with a 12-gauge shotgun hidden under his jacket and walked into the student commons where Joshua sat with friends.
