Kevin E. Wendt, a 47-year-old Chief Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, was found deceased on May 30, 2015, in North Pole, Alaska. His body was discovered in the Chena Lake Recreation Area, and authorities determined the cause of death to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, ruling out foul play. At the time of his passing, Wendt served as the group superintendent of the 354th Operations Group at Eielson Air Force Base, a position he had held since September 2014.
