On May 14, 2017, the body of 26-year-old Jeremie Speaker was discovered near Mile 4.8 of Knik River Road, south of Palmer, Alaska. The Alaska State Troopers initiated a homicide investigation following the discovery. Speaker's body was found in proximity to two burned vehicles, which were impounded to determine their connection to the case.
