On October 5, 2017, in Mountain Village, Alaska, 22-year-old Gertrude Queenie was tragically killed by her boyfriend, 34-year-old Alexie Walters. The incident began the previous evening when Walters and Queenie were drinking at a friend's house. Walters claimed to have found Queenie in a compromising situation, which led to his violent reaction. He forcibly dragged Queenie, unclothed, from the gathering to his mother's residence.
