On February 18, 2019, Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence near Bogard Road in Wasilla, Alaska, where they discovered the bodies of 47-year-old Sarah Catherine Miller-Klingener and 57-year-old Shawn McVey. Both individuals had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. Following a week-long investigation, authorities concluded that the incident was a murder-suicide, determining that McVey had fatally shot Klingener before taking his own life.
