In downtown Fairbanks on the afternoon of May 6, 2022, a 26-year-old Black male, named Rolando Khaleel Pressley crossed paths with a man who had gone out looking for him. Shortly after 2:25 p.m., shots rang out at First Avenue and Cushman Street. Court Services Officers near the courthouse heard the gunfire and rushed toward the intersection, where responders found Rolando Pressley on the sidewalk with multiple wounds.
