On April 8, 2023, at approximately 11:42 a.m., Homewood Police Department officers responded to a shooting incident in the 200 block of Robert Jemison Road. Upon arrival, they discovered 25-year-old Ka'ziya Nykysha Page suffering from two gunshot wounds to the lower abdomen. She was transported to UAB Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries later that afternoon.
