In the late hours of a Tuesday in McCalla, Alabama, a sense of unease settled over the 5500 block of Myron Clark Road. On August 2, 2022, at approximately 11:18 p.m., the sound of gunfire shattered the night's quiet, prompting a call to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. When deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered the body of 42-year-old Thomas Allen Everett, a male resident of the area. He had sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
