On November 24, 2020, at approximately 3:15 p.m., Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies responded to a reported shooting in the 7500 block of Weems Lane in Clay, Alabama. Upon arrival, they discovered 56-year-old Paul Edward Trull Jr. suffering from gunshot wounds. Trull was transported to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:16 p.m.
