On May 3, 2019, 42-year-old Andrew Wade "Andy" Kimbrel, a dedicated officer with the Vestavia Hills Police Department, was fatally shot in his Gardendale, Alabama, home. The incident occurred during a domestic dispute with his wife, Stephanie Nicole Keller.
