Man found shot to death in his home
On August 27, 1986, Gerald Drieling, a farmer from Fort Lupton, Colorado, was found dead in his home. After leaving a family gathering to tend to irrigation duties, Drieling did not return as expected, prompting a family member to check on him. Upon arrival, Drieling was discovered lying face down on the floor of his house. Investigators believe Drieling may have interrupted a burglary in progress and was forced to lie down before being fatally shot.
