Dennis Curry, a 49-year-old resident of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, tragically lost his life on January 27, 2009, in a violent home invasion. The incident occurred in the basement of Curry's home, located in the 4600 block of N. 28th Street.
On that fateful Tuesday afternoon, at approximately 1:45 p.m., Curry was visited by a friend who had come to obtain some laundry detergent. The friend had parked his vehicle in the rear of the property, leaving his girlfriend waiting inside. As the friend entered Curry's residence, two unknown assailants approached the parked vehicle and, at gunpoint, forced the girlfriend out.
The suspects then quietly waited by the back door until Curry's friend opened it, at which point they forced their way into the home. Once inside, they ordered the friend and his girlfriend to lie on the basement floor. The intruders then confronted Curry, demanding money from him. Despite Curry's cooperation and lack of resistance, one of the suspects suddenly opened fire, shooting him multiple times and taking his life.
This shocking act of violence left the Milwaukee community stunned and searching for answers.
