In the early morning hours of Friday, October 17, 2014, the life of 27-year-old African-American male Marquise D. Smith was cut short in a hail of gunfire on the streets of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The fatal incident unfolded around 2 a.m. in the 2600 block of W. Fond du Lac Ave., a scene that quickly transformed into one of violence and tragedy.
