On the evening of December 7, 2015, Thomas Elliott, a 62-year-old African-American man, had just finished a card game with friends at his long-time girlfriend's home in the 4100 block of West Fairmount Avenue in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As he stepped outside around 11:00 p.m., he was ambushed in the driveway by two individuals who shot him multiple times. Elliott, a well-known professional pool player affectionately called "Peter Blue," died at the scene from his injuries.
