In the fading light of a spring evening in Denver, Colorado, on May 29, 2011, a life was tragically cut short. Richard Eugene McDaniel, a 40-year-old Black male, was found at the intersection of 30th Avenue and Lafayette Street, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. Denver Police Department officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area and discovered the scene.
