On August 14, 1974, John Raymond Herse, a State Department official, was tragically killed in Arlington, Virginia, in what appeared to be a robbery attempt. That evening, Herse and his wife were walking back to their hotel after dining at the Orleans House Restaurant in Rosslyn when three men approached them from behind. The men pushed Herse to the ground, and as he stood back up, one of the attackers shot him. The suspects fled the scene, leaving Herse fatally wounded. He was taken to Arlington ...Read More
