A woman is found beaten to death On the evening of February 4, 1978, Corazon Frandsen, a 26-year-old female, shared a meal with her in-laws. After dinner, she stopped to pick up a few groceries before heading to her apartment at 5272 S. Cobble Creek Road in Murray, Utah. It was in the parking lot of her own apartment complex that her life would take a tragic turn. As she exited her two-door white Mercury Cougar, she was violently attacked.
The following morning, she was discovered in the bushes near the parking lot of a church located at 5605 S. Vine Street.
Corazon had been severely beaten and was found unconscious. She was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to her injuries a short time later. The cause of her death was determined to be a combination of blunt force trauma and exposure to the harsh elements. Five years prior, she had become a widow after her husband passed away from cancer.
The investigation into Corazon Frandsen's death has spanned decades, yet it remains an unsolved homicide. No suspects have been publicly identified, and no arrests have been made in connection with her murder. Her case is considered a cold case, and the Unified Police Department continues to seek information that might lead to a resolution. In a tragic coincidence, another woman, Patricia Luann Cobb, was also murdered in the same apartment building on the very same day. A man named Ronald Dean Lancaster was convicted of Cobb's stabbing death; however, it has not been determined if the two murders are related.
