On the evening of December 9, 2007, Marianne Wilkinson, a 68-year-old white female, was at her home in North Richland Hills, Texas, with her husband, Don Wilkinson. The couple was watching television when, around 8 p.m., the doorbell rang unexpectedly. Marianne answered the door and was immediately shot multiple times by an unknown assailant. Despite her husband's immediate call to 911, Marianne succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
