On December 6, 2008, 22-year-old Nazario Ortegon was killed in Houston, Texas, in a crime that remains unsolved. Ortegon was found shot to death in the early hours, and the homicide was immediately treated as suspicious by the Houston Police Department. The investigation into his death involved multiple units within the HPD Homicide Division, including the Homicide Squads responsible for investigating homicides and other questionable deaths where foul play was suspected.
