On January 29, 2009, Fernando Garcia, age 34, was killed in a fatal shooting in San Antonio, Texas. The incident occurred during a robbery attempt in the west side of the city. Garcia was approached by multiple suspects who demanded money. During the encounter, Garcia was shot multiple times. Authorities responded to the scene but Garcia had already succumbed to his injuries by the time they arrived.
