Willie Simms

On April 10, 2016, 33-year-old Willie Sims was fatally attacked in Houston, Texas. The incident occurred late at night when Sims and 34-year-old Shante Thompson, a Black transgender woman, were assaulted by a group of up to eight individuals. Witnesses reported that the assailants, armed with weapons such as a crowbar or tire iron, beat both victims before stabbing them. Thompson was also shot during the attack. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
