Ivan Gaines, 20, was fatally shot on November 21, 2010, in San Antonio, Texas. The incident occurred around 10 p.m. while Gaines was walking with a female companion on the Northeast Side, near the 4800 block of Ray Bon Drive. A vehicle with two men drove by, and one of the occupants fired two shots, hitting Gaines in the right hip. He was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries around 10:15 p.m. The woman accompanying him was uninjured. The motive for the shooting remains unclear, and the suspects were not immediately identified.
