On December 31, 2014, Thanh Nguyen, aged 21, was found dead in Houston, Texas. The incident was initially reported as a missing person's case when family members realized they had not seen or heard from Nguyen since December 30. During the investigation, authorities received information that led them to Barbara Jean Stanford, who was alleged to be Nguyen's girlfriend.

According to the investigation, Nguyen was fatally shot by Stanford during an argument at her home in Montgomery County. ...
