Shelbey Thornburgh Crocker, a 20-year-old woman, was found murdered in her apartment on November 4, 2015, in southwest Houston. Shelbey was killed at approximately 10:10 p.m. at her residence in the 7500 block of Bellaire Boulevard. According to investigators, she suffered lacerations caused by an unknown sharp object and was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect, described as an unknown male, fled the scene, and no witnesses have come forward. Despite releasing surveillance footage, her case remains unsolved, and the investigation is ongoing.
Shelbey had moved to Houston with aspirations of a better future. Her sister Krystina described her as a kind-hearted, small-town girl. Tragically, Shelbey's body was discovered following an assault, believed to be by an individual she met shortly before her death. Despite a significant push from police and her family, including a plea for public assistance in identifying her killer, the case has gone cold, and no arrests have been made to date.
The investigation is still open, and authorities continue to ask for tips from anyone with information about the suspect.
