On November 6, 2015, Armando Mazariegos, age 53, was tragically killed during an attempted robbery outside his apartment complex at 9888 United Drive in southwest Houston. Mazariegos had just returned home from running errands with his wife and grandson when the incident occurred. As he stepped out of his vehicle, he was approached by an armed suspect demanding money.
