On January 15, 2016, Alvin Torres, a 16-year-old from Houston, Texas, was fatally shot while walking near 6200 Beverly Hill. At around 4:30 p.m., a white extended-cab pickup truck drove by Torres, and an unknown individual, described as a Hispanic male, fired multiple shots, striking Torres. He was rushed to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
