On June 7, 2016, Elizabeth Harris, aged 42, was tragically killed in a double shooting incident in northeast Houston, Texas. The shooter, Darrell P. Mitchell, was charged with capital murder following the incident. Mitchell, aged 28, shot both his ex-girlfriend Elizabeth Harris and her new boyfriend during the early morning hours at Harris's apartment on Hirsch Road.
