On July 4, 2016, during a Fourth of July celebration in Houston's Fourth Ward, 29-year-old Charles Jackson was fatally shot. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of Robin Street, where approximately 100 people had gathered to watch fireworks.
