On July 24, 1982, 23-year-old Brenda Duharte was found strangled in the laundry room of her apartment complex on the 300 block of 88th Street in Daly City, California. Brenda was last seen when she went downstairs to move her laundry from the washer to the dryer, but she never returned. She was discovered dead shortly thereafter in what appeared to be an unplanned attack. At the time of her death, Brenda worked for Wells Fargo Bank in San Francisco and lived with her young daughter.
