On February 16, 2017, Alex Brookins, aged 22, was fatally shot while walking near 5100 Yellowstone Boulevard in Houston, Texas. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Houston Fire Department paramedics after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds. The shooting occurred around 7:30 p.m. when Brookins was walking in the area.
