Edward Hargrove, aged 53, was fatally shot on October 23, 2017, in southeast Houston. The incident occurred late at night at a residence on Elm Tree Drive, following an altercation between Hargrove and another individual. Witnesses reported that the altercation escalated, resulting in Hargrove being shot multiple times. He was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Unfortunately, the suspect fled the scene, and law enforcement has not been able to provide a description of the shooter.
The police responded to a "shooting in-progress" call, but by the time they arrived, the suspect had already escaped. The Houston Police Department (HPD) Homicide Division has been working on the case, but as of now, no arrests have been made, and they are urging the public to come forward with any information that might help solve this case.
This tragic incident took place near a halfway house in southeast Houston, adding to the complexity of the investigation, given the transient nature of the residents nearby. HPD continues to seek leads to bring closure to Hargrove’s family and has encouraged anyone with relevant information to contact their homicide division or Crime Stoppers.
