On October 23, 2017, Anthony Ross, 47, was found shot to death at a homeless encampment under U.S. Highway 59 in Midtown, Houston. Police responded to reports of a shooting just after midnight and discovered Ross lying face-down outside a tent. He was pronounced dead at the scene from an apparent gunshot wound.
