On October 23, 2017, Anthony Ross, 47, was found shot to death at a homeless encampment under U.S. Highway 59 in Midtown, Houston. Police responded to reports of a shooting just after midnight and discovered Ross lying face-down outside a tent. He was pronounced dead at the scene from an apparent gunshot wound. Despite the presence of others at the encampment, there were no witnesses who claimed to have seen or heard anything specific about the shooting, though some reported hearing between one ...
